Plastic pallets made from recycled polyethylene

We transform used plastic containers into durable pallets. We process recycled polyethylene into plastic pallets for industrial use. This process creates new, load-bearing pallets from existing plastic resources.

At the Recyclen division of the Wandel Packaging Group, we manufacture plastic pallets from recycled polyethylene. Polyethylene is one of the most commonly used plastics for packaging and industrial applications. It is a durable material that can be easily molded and is resistant to many mechanical stresses. Additionally, polyethylene absorbs very little moisture, making it ideal for applications requiring robust, low-maintenance plastic products with excellent cleaning properties. 

Another advantage: Polyethylene can be reprocessed with the right treatment. In this process, used or surplus material is converted into recycled material. Recycled material is shredded, cleaned, sorted, and remelted reclaimed plastic. This keeps the material usable and allows it to be reused in new products.

Our plastic pallet production incorporates production waste from our canister manufacturing, among other things. Additionally, blow molding customers can return their used, rinsed plastic canisters to us. After a thorough incoming inspection, we process the canisters into high-quality regrind and reintroduce the material into the production process. Plastic pallets can also be returned to the material cycle after they reach the end of their useful life. We reprocess damaged or unusable pallets into regrind and use it to manufacture new plastic pallets.

The manufacturing process begins by melting down recycled polyethylene. Unlike injection-molded plastic pallets, this material is shaped using a thermoforming process. This method results in robust, durable pallets for industrial use. Depending on the model, runners are attached next. These are also available as replacement parts. Finally, the finished pallets are stacked, secured, and prepared for shipment.

This allows us to produce up to 200,000 plastic pallets per year without using any new materials. This enables resource-efficient manufacturing based on existing plastic resources, helping companies maintain material cycles and reduce their carbon footprint.
